I ordered a 16x22, 07x08, 08x10,08x12,14x16,16x18 and a 16x18 Gong. Should be at my Studio around october. Mapex just gives you an awseome soundin drum Set for a Great value…got gretsch Broadkasters and USA Chstoms as well…the Quality of Mapex is way better than the gretsch Sets…. Easy Tuning and top notch Build quality….just awesome, nice drums.

Comment on the PATRIOT "GENERATOR". Tecnically, it is not a generator . It is a storage battery. I recently had a power outage and connected my refrigerator to a fully charged PATRIOT GENERATOR. It ran the refrigerator about 45 minutes.

The collector’s series kit had loads of sustain… although that could have been tuning… they all sound great tho

Going to up grade my MMX kit with the new suspension mount and gyro lock. I hated the old style pearl Tom arms because I could not position the drums the way I could with my other kits off the “ virgin” kick drum.

There is no reason to spend big money on one of these. The less expensive ones sounded just as good

I play on Keystones and we gig 2x a month say ,however virtually every show someone will come up and ask about the drums or comment about how great they sound .… the projection and tone from those Oak /Maple shells is incredible,they are the best sounding drums imho I’ve ever owned . 24,12,16,18 ,the 24 inch kick moves a ton of air and anyone mixing these drums loves them. I just got the Keystone snare a 7.5x 14 -it’s also a beast ,…Ludwig you brought the goods with this one 👏👏👏Well done!!! Studio or live these drums are top notch!!

Definitely the Ludwig…the lower tuning is right where i love my snares tuned.

Tama and Gretsch sounded best to me. The Rogers sounded bad to me.

i know the Acrolyte is there representing Ludwig, but an Aluminum comparison without the 6.5 Supraphonic seems useless to me

2:30 I'm doing exactly this, but as soon as I let go the pedal will immediately drop to the ground again. What am I doing erong or what can I do about that?

Please note how each cymbal sounds with the assistance of the kick drum thst makes them sound better immediatly.. Also in what setting you will use it, and genre music plays a uge factor. How sofy or how hard you going to it plays a big deciding factor as well. What stick you are using, and almost the one of the most important things to mention is how well they will mature over time. And last but not least its not what your ear hears, but what the mics pick up during recording thst could be a massive decidinf factor when anyonenisnreadynto buy one of these. For me personally is how well they will age and mature over time, as thwse botique cymbals get allot more warmth and wash over time. In short what I am saying is,,, I personally look for an excuse to own all 10 of them 😅 All sounds great, good video guys. Liked and subscribed 🤙🏼

Yamaha kicked butt. The DW's sustained the most, the Ludwig kit had the shortest sustain. Yamaha was 90% to DW's sustain. The Yamaha kick drum was a canon.

I just picked up a pair of zyldian A quick beats. I ADORE them!

The Canopus sounded so much better than the competition here- colourful and resonant. The others sounded like each other- all great sounding drums but not special like the Canopus.

1. Canopus. I know y'all are counting votes. But here's the thing. 4 excellent snare drums. I have several Ludwigs Including a BB/w Brass HW I bought from DCP last yr, The one Shane called a "Unicorn" (Dumb ass me suffering from G.A.S. just had to buy it !🤪 ). Never heard of a Supreluxe, sounds like my Supra though 🤔 So I'll go with which snare would I buy ? Already got several Aluminum snares and the Yammy is great. Don't have a copper (Saving up for a Copper phonic) the Mapex is excellent. Based on comments I can see why it will probably win this round. Still the Canopus just has something special. For sure better wires and heads than the Mapex at 2 x the price. PS: That Ludwig BB I bought from y'all. Yep it is a Unicorn. Best BB I've ever played ! 😍

Ludwig is my top pick although all snare drums sounded great.

Supralite is a no brainer. Amazing steel snare for 200 bux. Big Black Steel is always gonna be great. TAMA DRUMS all day baby!!! Any snare from the Yamaha Recording Custom line is going to be excellent. and no doubt you can hear the thicker shell tone of the Keplinger and Dunnett.

Canopus, it's another league, but as always the best aesthetic will win...

I have to say the Mapex Predator takes the cake. The sound projected with authority and had nice sustain. Even with only the room mic, it sounded really good. And I'm not a fan of Mapex at all. But I have to give my unbiased opinion.

toughest head-to-head yet. I'm giving it to the Mapex, but only by the slightest of margins over the Canopus. If I were picking "a collection" I'd vote Canopus since I've leaned "deep" on the other weeks, and that is a fantastic pancake drum.

Great work with this comparison. But C'mon guys - they all sound like cymbals, and actually pretty similar. Does not matter if there is some darker or brighter tone to it, a mic or eq does much more. Playing and feel makes true difference.
